Golf Pencils are great for many reasons:
- They are small enough for small hands
- they can fit in my pocket and go through the wash without ruining clothing
- pencils aren’t as permanent as ink on wood
- they are super cheap
Normal pencils are either too sharp or somehow difficult to keep from chipping when preschoolers write. Also, you don’t really need that little eraser on the nib. It will probably come off soon anyway.
Note, I’ve left some out and they tend to crack, but because they are so inexpensive I just have to remember to leave only a few out at a time. I did find another brand that doesn’t split as easily outdoors, but I haven’t figured out the brand yet.
Pet peeve: those ‘plastic pencils’. They jam up pencil sharpeners too easily.
To avoid too sharp ends, make sure to get a golf pencil sharpener too.
