At our school we have a Professional Development Objective report we fill out. It outlines how we expect to grow professionally as a teacher this year; identifying 3 objectives, how we will get there, and how to identify if we achieved it.
In a nutshell, here are the things I will be working on:
- 15 ‘tip of the week’ notes for adults
- Creating an Outdoor Guidebook, adding at least 10 pages
- Create a Rotation schedule – books, toys, tools, items that need to be replenished and source of items
- In our outdoor newsletter: Spotlight something each week (a space, item or new thing about the space)
- Create a list of 10 neighboring schools- contact the outdoor instructors (or other preschool teachers) – for invitations to our campus
- Gather 5
- 5 places I can reach out to other educators and log progress, obtain contact info and/or websites; emails, websites, webinars for the outdoor classroom (also to be placed in Guidebook)
Whew! It seems like a lot, but I want to do it anyway.
Last year I think I wrote something about showing love to the Earth, and this time it is showing love to the community. I thought reaching out to others might be a good way to start the ball rolling.
I’ll update this post as I go along so I can go into more detail on my progress.
Toodle-loo!
