We got to talking about the various definitions – steam, stem, stream (reading/relationship) streams
cause and effect
risk taking
how to get kids ready to get dirty
re STEM vs STEAM etc – there seemed to be two points of view on this:
A) protect the areas so they are – integrity of all those subjects
B) it was boosting on funding, and ‘art’ was added to elevate that too
There is work to stand on, that can be continued.

Hello – [There was thoughts about making new standards, but I pondered if there was a way to look at the various state standards, and come to some type of consensus of the best practices perhaps?]
[I thought it was interesting that there seemed to be some negative views on Pinterest that I didn’t know about. Mostly due to the spread of mis-information or projects that aren’t really connected to anything (except maybe ‘looking pretty to parents’) – There was talk of wanting a pinterest type of site that had gone through peer review- but I think maybe if we think of Pinterest as a Google type of search and use our judgement or encourage our peers via training, that we all might advance Early Childhood Curriculum]
